There hasn’t been one of these in a while mainly because for the last month I’ve been on a secret squirrel mission with work that has involved a roughly 3 hour commute (round trip) and having to go to bed earlier to get up at stupid o’clock to get there on time.  Anywho, it was my last day today, and it’s a bank holiday weekend – woohoo!

Last weekend I got pieces cut out for my mum’s dress, which I’m hoping to get all sewn up tomorrow, so will post all the pics then.

I have also finally caved into the following quilt-along:

I ordered the fabric a few days ago and picked it up from the sorting office this morning.  I’m planning to give it to my gran for her birthday.  It should go perfectly with the colours in her living room :o)

I’m thinking I might leave out the purple and teal shades, but we’ll see…

The parcel also brought me:

And another parcel brought me these, which should help :o)  The 15 1/2 x 15 1/2″ grid was half price and the 12 1/2″ x 12 1/2″, 6 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ and 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ were on special offer as a pack.  The rotary trimmer blade was just normal price.

Tonight, after work, I hit Ikea for some fabric, and came home with this selection.  I didn’t buy one other thing (other than gravy mix and lingonberry jam, and everyone knows that doesn’t count ;o) ) aren’t you impressed?

This week I also managed to sign up for a swap (you’ll understand that I’m obviously anticipating regaining about 6 hours a day here!)

Looking forward to seeing where that will take me, but I have homework to do this week for it!

For this long weekend, I have a few things planned:

  1. Finish the dress (tomorrow)
  2. Get my pieces cut for the QAL (tomorrow/Sunday)
  3. Do my swap homework (Sunday)
  4. Do this month’s Amy Butler bag sew along (Monday)

Once all that’s done, I can get back to panda girl with a clear conscience, so hopefully she’ll be more advanced by next weeked…

Now remember that ruff I made?  Here are a couple of ‘action’ shots hot off the press (I had actually wondered if it might be for the dog!):
