Wow, it’s felt like I’ve been working on stuff since last Friday without actually having anything to show for it, but I’ve finally got something! I have actually finished my Sew Mama Sew giveaway item (which I can’t show you ’til next Monday) and I’ve got most of the way through part 2 of the super secret project, but amongst that, I cranked out these 2 bags.
Here is the one for my friend, made from the larger pattern using black linen, and Echino for the outer, and a spotty purple quilt weight cotton for the interior, with a splash of turquoise from the Sandy Gervais Grand Finale line, leftover from my ATSQA quilt:
And here is the smaller one I made for me (same interior):
I also got a fabulous parcel through the door from my friend Susana in Hong Kong. Susana had noticed my post on the purse frames recently and offered to help me translate the book if needed. She also offered to send me a bunch of fabric she didn’t think she’d get to use. Wasn’t she generous? She also included a couple of postcards from her bear business.
Now, would you like the chance to win some fabric of your own? If so, head over to see the more famous Katy at I’m A Ginger Monkey who has a couple of bundles from 2 new fabric lines that aren’t even in the shops yet.
And finally, there’s been a few questions about my Christmas decorations because, as it turns out, not everyone has a koala dressed as a reindeer (shocker, eh?). So here’s my TV unit, and the wee table with the phone on, which contains the sum total of my Christmas decorations (along with a bunch of other stuff that’s there year-round)
Oh, and I’m linking up to Jenna’s Manic Monday (others are on holiday for December) – and yeah, a day late, I’m ill, pity party, remember? ;o)
Miss Katy,
No wee tree for The Clan and for Jack? Isn't this Jack's first Christmas with you? Oh dear….
Hugs,
Prudence
you have some nice finishes and some lovely fabric there. Aren't bloggy friends just the best?
awww you not feeling well Katy? 😉 Get well soon! Your wristlets look fab and thats a brilliant parcel from you mate, so cheer up!
The wristlets are gorgeous, Katy. Your talent never ceases to amaze me! Hugs, Janice
The wristlet is great! and what a nice bloggy friend, that's a great stack of fabrics.
I do love the fabric in both bags. They look very chick.
Thanks for the photo of the Koala reindeer. Seeing I live in Australa.I have never seen them before.
Hugs
Kay
OK! I have just found the spotty red kangaroo. Just a little bit of artistic licence for both of them I think.
Hugs again
Kay
Love the two bags, they're absolutely wonderful. The fabrics that you used to make them gives them such a smart look. I love bright colors partnered with black, very chic. Great decorations and festive even though you really should have a tree in there somewhere. Hugs
The bags look great, the Echino is a real winner and the lining of the pocket is a lovely touch, very nice.
Hope you feel better soon.
Both of your wristlets look fantastic! I'm envious of your top-stitching skillz.
Hope the remaining lung is holding up Katy. GORGEOUS pouches! Great you have help with the book (so it was Chinese)and some yummy fabric, oh, and have fun at the party and stay away from that mistletoe lady!
Very nice my dear, but to answer Prudence. Have no fear, so long as she remember Jack (ahem) he can share our Christmas tree when Katy and her Gran join us for the celebrations.

I've just bought a koala and a hop hop (!) for my tree, but I'm gutted that they aren't dressed as reindeers! I feel cheated!
i hope you start feeling well soon. the wristlet is adorable. i don't have a lot of love for AB's patterns. they always come out looking great but it takes a few extra brain cells for me to make it through. 😉
Love the purses? bags? wristlets? Whatever…they're cute and stylish, but then I have come to expect nothing less from you. And all this while you are ill. Poor thing. I hope you feel better fast. I'm sure Jack is taking good care of you, right? Right?

Lucky friends! Those little wristlets are so cute.
Your friend will LOVE her wristlet. They both look fantastic!
Hey Girl,
I'm so loving the bags!! They are super cool and the fabrics rock. I'm sorry your not feeling well & pray for a fast recovery!! Rest up & I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

good job, i like the wristlet, and the book's price is really attractive.
You really are a pro. Your work is flawless. I always love your fabric choices.
And I also really like your Christmas decorations. It is not how much you have (well maybe for some) but what they mean to you. Yours are adorable. I find myself doing less and less every year. I am liking it more simple.
