My big news for today is that it was our first WCS MQG meeting at Cushion and Cake on Old Dumbarton Road. Oh what fun! We had Lynz, Fiona and Nikki, plus 2 of Nikki’s friends, Stephanie and her mum Anne. Poor Pamela that runs Cushion and Cake was probably exhausted by the time we finally left at 10:30 pm! Such a fab 3 hours of chatting, show and tell and exchanging tips, plus several of us are intending to attend Pamela’s fabric printing class in February. The shop itself has loads of local art and crafts for sale, and was the perfect venue for the night, can’t wait til next month! Sheila, you’ll be please to know it will be on Thursday 23rd February :o)
Onto WIP Wednesday, I’m sorry to say, there’s been lots of WIPs but no finishes this week. I’m actually okay with the no finishes thing, because I’m thinking it’ll be a while before there are some due to the number of WIPs that all have dependencies on them!
WIP In Progress This Week:
I got my block for the SHQ QAL done yesterday when it was posted. I’m determined to get this done within the QAL timeframe to send off to Kat for Blankets of Love, I’m actually pretty pleased with how this turned out and how it lined up, except for that top corner green bit, which is a teensy bit off joining the blue, and when joined to the next block will lose its point slightly. I might have had a little dance around the room in glee at the rest matching up though ;o)
I also got my sketch done for my FTLOS 2 swap partner for her main item. I know exactly what I want to make her for her small item too, but I don’t need to sketch that, although for everything I do need to order in supplies!
This will be a square cushion surrounded in the grey too, but I lost the will to colour in lol
I got my rainbow charms cut and posted off.
I’ve got both my Piece Bee With You and Sew Bee Joyful blocks drawn up and copied, so I’m ready to go, but as they’re paper piecing, I’d rather leave it til the weekend when I have a chunk of time to spend on them (although that does go against my ‘To Do For Me’ and ‘To Do For Others’ rules), plus I want to try the non foundation type this time for one of them.
I cut down loads of fabric for my rainbow windmill on Saturday, but then lots of other things intervened over the weekend and I was rather grumpy! Hopefully once I’ve done my bee blocks I can get on with it!

Oh my, you are awesome! 3.2kg is a fantastic start. All those stairs certainly paid off. Well done!
Great to hear your first meet & greet went well too. I'll come one day… but probably won't make February. 😉
I am amazed you lost so much in a week. Tell me what is your diet.

Congrats on losing the 7 pounds! And also congrats on having a great guild meeting! It'll only get better from here. 🙂
forget the guild meeting, how did you lose 7 lbs in one week? Way to go!
7lbs!! Incredible, as is the rest of your accomplishMents. The guild meeting most of all.

Your sketch looks great for the FTLOS 2 swap.
Yay for you losing 7lbs, You'll be able to make all thoses skirts you have planned!! I love that block with all the points matching. Your get together looked like fun!
7lbs in a week WOW! Well done!
The guild meeting was so much fun. Thankyou for organising it, I'm already looking forward to next month 🙂
Wow, you had a great week! Congrats on the 7 lbs, that's fantastic! And the MQG meeting sounds like so much fun. I love your sketch for the ftlos swap!
Come on Katy, cough up your secret and help us all loose weight????lol
OMG the guild looks like so much fun!! And woah there! You go girl with the weightloss. I'm gonna tubs in the corner at SS at this rate…!
Wow 7 lbs – that is awesome! And that is a LOT of walking. Good job! That looked like a really fun meeting… I'm so jealous of people who get to hang out with other quilters. Quilting really isn't a big hobby where I live. 🙁
so impressed with your first week weigh -in result – wow – you must be feeling wonderful!
well done re the guild meeting too – everyone having a great time means more will show up next time – woo hoo!
I want to be you or just like you, I can't make up my mind which. No matter how hard I try I can't seem to loose an ounce and I haven't finished a project in a week. The weekend is nearly here so I suspect you'll get tons of stuff done and loose another 7 pounds too. Oh well, some of us have it and some of us don't. Hugs anyway
Will be at next one if I can. Will you be selling tickets to see you running up and down the escalator? (Well done)
Wow, well done all around! 7lbs is great & low carb is so good for you. We're all getting rid of the carb here and going low ourselves. So I'm there with you!
Cottage cheese, frozen fruit, splenda and walnuts.., is it kinda like yogurt? I'm getting a little tired of Apple and cheese…
Damn your HSTs look amazing! Well done!
yeah for your guild meeting! It looks more like a tea party which I love! Good job on your weigh in too, keep 'em coming!
Add me to those offering Congratulations! Weight loss is a huge challenge but you seem to have a good grip on it. Yea for you!
The gathering looks like tons of fun! Somedays there is nothing better eh?
