What with the gallivanting off across the Irish Sea for a 4-day weekend, I didn’t get a huge amount done this week sewing-wise, oddly enough! I am looking forward to a good couple of weeks now though where I should get some peace and quiet. With the weather forecast to go back to being usual March misery by the weekend, I shan’t feel the least bit guilty about playing catch up on my sewing! Add in the 4 day long Easter weekend the following weekend, and I should be able to get quite a bit done…
Finishes this week:
Just the one finish this week, my notebook:
In progress this week:
Name tag for the FQ Retreat. I had the name embroidered before I even reached the airport on Friday morning! Alas a moving train rather put paid to drawing in the next bits, so I’ll get back to that one later this week maybe.
Wee bear – he’s almost done, head completed, everything sewn and stuffing and jointing complete, just his seams to close up tomorrow or Friday.
Hexie madness – well, I got a whole one 3/4″ hexie done… but hey, that means there’s only 99 small ones and 7 big ones to go lol
To be worked on this week:
Finishing wee bear’s seams and popping him in the post
Piece Bee With You cat block – I’m trying to get excited about this, but I really do hate cats lol Maybe I could get away with a mouse… ;o)
Stitch Tease strip – I have a couple of paper piecing patterns printed (try saying that when you’re drunk!) and a few more ideas sketched out, so hopefully I can really pull something together over the weekend. I suspect choosing the fabric will be the most challenging bit!
Name tag for FQ Retreat – hopefully I can get this done and out of the way.
Hope you’ve all got a great week planned!
Linking up to Lee at Freshly Pieced:
What a cute little notebook cover! I'm glad you had a great time – even though you didn't get as much done as you'd hoped. 🙂
Well Hello Wee Jock, you really are a splendid bear and you'll have an absolutely marvellous time on your travels. I can hardly wait to meet you in the fur.
Dad
Hi Little Wee bear, I do hope you get your stuffing holes sewn up very soon. It is the indignity of having white fluff falling out of you.
Hugs
Wilbur
What a very fine little bear. 🙂 I do love your notebook cover too. I like the spontaneity of it! I hope you had a great trip too.
I want to see photos of the weekend away! But loving the solitary hexie.
The lone hexie eh!
The bear look so cute!
Oh, look at wee bear – look at that tummy. Could it be filled with yummy honey?
Hugs,
Prudence
Honey? Now I'm hungry… Mom….
Oooh a quiet week for you then!! lol
Great looking notebook and as for the new bear he really is a cutie:o))
Take care now and have a good day.
Hugs Lyn x
hey blogger fellow, miss you and your bear, so excited to read this post, i thought you might be doing very well on your sewing up project. Catch up with your hexies, i have a vintage hexies tote bag and curious with yours.
Welcome back, Katy! You're allowed a break from the machine! Love the wee bear! He looks so cuddly.
Even with all your flitting about, you get more done in a day than I do in a week. It's cuz you are committed and I'm …..lazy. But I love your work. Oma Linda
The bear is delightful – I wonder if you grew up saying … "Shall I be a doctor? … a dentist? … a pilot? …NO! I think I shall just make bears for a living!" he he xx
Omg…I had more to say, but the one lonely hexie has me laughing so hard I can't remember!!!!
Your bear is so cute! Great job!
that bear is so cute! Hope you had a good trip 😀
The bear is very cute.
I love your one hexie, that's positive thinking!!!
Love the wee bear. You seem to have no problem getting things done even while flitting about. I flitted and got very little done as a result. I did manage to make Bellamine & Wendy new rompers from some Daisy Kingdom fabric I discovered in my stash. Hugs
I am surprised that you managed to get anything done with all your gallivanting! That hexie must have taken up oodles of your time 🙂
I'm looking forward to seeing your name tag! I have to make one sometime next month, and I'm trying to figure out what to do. 😀
Your bear is adorable. What a personality he has! Such a gift to be able to create these! Deb.
