Some of the more observant amongst you will have realised that I’m reviewing the lovely Anna from Noodlehead’s 241 tote for Purse Palooza next week. I have a few ideas of things I want to try myself, including making a few different sizes of the pattern, but is there anything you guys would particularly like me to look at? Leave me a comment with any suggestions/questions :o)
Here’s the fabric selection I’m working with at the moment:
Eclectic selection, no? ;o) There will be 3 different sizes and styles out of this lot.
Will look forward to reading your review. I've made quite a few of these bags and it remains one of my favourite bag patterns. It's easy but just a little bit different.
I love this pattern but have been too scared to try the zipper version. Pics of how to/talking someone down off the ceiling would be appreciated.
I have made the pattern twice, I think you will find it a good one. And the internet has made this one about a million times. I think a lot of people skip the zipper so a focus on that would be useful I think.
can't wait to see your bags… 😉 that sounds a little dirty! xo ha!
Oh definitely the zip version – I've done a 105% and a 50% version, but piked out of the zips xxx
Great fabric selections. They look like they're going to be fun =D
Love the red whit and blue look.
That's awesome! I really want that pattern. I'm still trying to hold off buying any more patterns until I have time. And money. I need money before then.
Oooh! Those fabrics will make lovely bags – such a useful size, too.
I have the pattern, but not made it yet as I want to do the zipper version, but what I really erally want is to know if it is easy (I am a beginner – ish) to put a zipper along the top, for extra security.
I'm sure you'll think of all the things I wanted to ask but didn't know I wanted to…
I won this pattern for Purse Palooza and made one yesterday! I wimped out on the zipper version – next time!!
TOP STITCHING – esp the curved sides. Wimped out on that as well 🙂 Didn't know how I could get down and around without making a mess of it – so I just pressed well. (I up-cycled black denim jeans and it seemed too bulky to try but – do you need to take the machine out of the cabinet and use the narrow sewing surface I wonder?)
(Also I wished afterwards I'd top stitched closer to the edge around the top of the bag.)
EASING IN CURVED SIDE WITH POCKET – I wanted it pucker-free and happily exterior came out pretty well. Lining was diff story …luckily it's inside – was getting antsy to finish I guess!
Curious what rating you'll give it. I would say Advanced if you do ALL the options 🙂
LOVE the shape the darts gave the bottom of the bag.
I've been admiring all the versions I've seen popping up, so I look forward to your review. 3? Over achiever much ;o) ?
