Candi, over at Raccoon Creek Quilts has a monthly quilt challenge, where her readers take it in turns to come up with the challenge subject. This month I won the chance to pick (and I have a fab parcel of goodies from quilt market on its way to me as an added bonus!)
You may have noticed when I was banging on about discussing the design for My Precious quilts, that I was obsessing over circles. There are so many options on how to put circles into quilts, and I think I’ve settled on how I’m going to do My Precious quilts, but I want to try out all the different options for inset circles on a smaller scale to see if I can work out what goes best where, and I challenge you all to join in because I’ve been looking for an excuse for a giveaway anyway ;o) Now this will be a mystery prize, because it will come from whatever I create for the challenge (ha, bet that’s got you worried now!)
To start you off, here’s some tutes to check out:

At the end of the month I’ll post a linky party for you all to show off what you’ve done with this, so have fun!
Great idea for a challenge 🙂
Ugh…looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and give circles a try….you've inspired me.
Circles kind of scare me – although I'd have loved to have done Lu's port holes class at the retreat!
Sounds like fun!
You missed out on the opportunity to be traumatised by circles by missing out on my month in the Brit Bee last time round. Maybe someone else will do a circle theme this year…
I need those blinking Retro Flower curves finished first!
I love circles, don't forget about portholes. I am not sure what you want us to do to play along but I would be happy to play with some circles.
Sounds like fun! Circles was the last challenge for the modern she made swap! =D
I' not sure what you want us to do either but will have a peek at some of those tutes.
Circles look scary to me!
I love circles too. That last one is thrilling me like you wouldn't believe.
Hmnnnnn can I fit something else in for July…..thats the question!
All the circles look great. Sometimes they can be a challenge.
Hugs
Circles still kind of scare me post applique trauma.
As soon as I stop shaking at the thought of circles, I`m planning to check out the tutes!
Great idea! Circles intimidate the crap out of me!
Ooh fun or torture!? Only one way to find out!
oooh – i'm just about to post about a drunkards path quilt top i just finished this evening – it still needs borders etc but i love it – and the curves weren't too bad at all 🙂
I am scared of circles but I am going to have to get over it pretty sharpish as I joined the FQR Kinky Bee and our first month is rainbow circles from Kelly Jeliquilts! Appreciate the tutes, need to pick a method and give it a go. Leaning towards the foil right now!
I've really been wanting to do a circle quilt! Now I have been challenged…I have to do it!
