You may have noticed that there is an element to the Travellin’ Pic Stitch Blog Hop which requires you to take a photo and extract a colour palette from it, then use these to create your block. Now Laura and I will be doing this as we travel, but I thought I’d take a look at some holiday photos I had lying around and what sorts of colours I could get out of them using the Palette Builder from Play Craft. One note if you’re using this one, you should have a play around with the sliders, you’ll get a range of options that way.
Sydney Opera House at sunset:
The 12 Apostles on the Great Ocean Road, Australia:
Cape Aghulas Lighthouse, South Africa:
A little number I like to call ‘Reservoir Penguins’ at Boulder’s Beach on the Cape in South Africa:
The Abbey de Senanque in Provence:
Some colourful houses in Rousillon, Provence:
A bee on a mission in Provence:
And finally Eilean Donan castle on the road to Skye:
So many different scenes, and so many colour mix options. For the competition part of the hop, have a good trawl through your holiday pics and see what you can come up with :o)
Wow, that castle is stunning!
Great pics. I wish I'd seen this post earlier I've spent hours this afternoon trying to get various colour palette thingies to work even this play craft one wouldn't play nicely for me for ages!
These are all stunning.
Great colour combinations.to match those beautiful photos.
great pics! i am particularly partial to the ones with pink… 😉
You'll never be stuck for ideas with this. I love every single one of these colour palettes.
These combos are all wonderful. Thanks for the world trip.
Nice photos, the colour palette generator is great fun. Looking forward to seeing your photos and palettes from your trip.
You found some great photos with wonderful colours. All mine seem very dull.
That is a great tool and lovely photos.
Gorgeous photos! You have been to some amazing places!
Boulder's Beach – pretty blocks couldn't do the smell justice!
ROFL reservoir penguins!
It's so fun to look at old photos and pull a color palette from it.
I'm just jealous of where you have been and where you are going. You'd think I had never stepped foot out of Northamptonshire!
Oooh I'd like a quilt from that 12 Apostles' palette!
If you really need them I could lend you the tigers at Ranthambhore, The Taj Mahal or the Amber Fort at Jaipur, but I spect you don't 😉
