So here is the final reveal of the Winter Woolies from my giveaway last week. I liked Leanne’s choice so much that I used them on both the SS gift and her version, so here they are. I would have loved to take these in more natural light, but since waiting until May would have defeated the purpose of the exercise, this is the best I could get ;o):
For the background I ended up choosing a Basic Grey Grunge from Moda (I think from the Blitzen line), which I’m loving so much after this and Sarah’s blocks, I now feel the need to stock up on a range of colours! It seems to give more depth than a solid, and yet not be as busy as a patterned background would have been. For the binding I used some of the Starcomb from the Curious Nature line by Parson Gray from early this year, as I thought it looked a bit snow-flaky. The only actual quilting is the mitten string, and I’m afraid I didn’t have letter stamps the right size to add the texty bit, sorry! It wasn’t really in the pattern though, just there as an example of what you could do, honest! I added a little heart shaped button for the bobble.
So do you love the look of these? Then run right over to Kerry’s shop and get a copy of the pattern, it’s a steal at under £2!
Love it, it has turned out beautifully.
I was intrigued to know how that would turn out and I think it looks very imaginative. Well done!
I'm a big Grunge fan 🙂 Lovely work sweets!
