It’s time for the last block that I have to send off for Stitch Tease, and Di wants pinwheels. I’ve never done a pinwheel block in my puff, and I don’t seem to have been that prolific at pinning them either, argh! Anyway, here’s what I had pinned:
And that’s all I got, help! What are your favourite pinwheel blocks?
Look at my board called quilts. It has some great pinwheel blocks. If that doesn't do it for you, search pinwheel quilts and you will find a lot!!!
My mosaic on the stitch tease group has a few ideas. Btw, I love the first one (hint, hint)
There are quite a few in my favouritson Flickr too!
In my month in my bee I requested pinwheels – link to finished quilt is here

Haven't pinned any either but I like the top one!
The top one would be my choice too for both the shapes and the colour combinations.
I'm in love with the second block! A quilt of all those blocks would look fab! The first block is a winner too!
I just love a regular HST pinwheel me!
I'm new to pinwheels and working on Di's block too. They take longer than you think or is that just me? Love those top pinwheels.
We did a pinwheel skew block in the QAL which is quite cool – but small! Love that top one :o)
I don't have any pinwheels pinned either – sorry! But they vary a lot on flickr! Jxo
Cut two squares, place them ight sides together, stitch ALL the way round , use rotary cutter to cut corner to corner, twice, sort of x, open, press, rearrange into pinwheel.
That bottom one is super cute!! I have only ever made pinwheels with HST's, and don't have any pinned either. :/ Good luck!
Benta, seems to have a great idea!
I think of them as the simple half square triangle kind. The way Benta has described making them is great! I think for the top one you need a special ruler?
So next in my google reader is a post by Connie at Free Motion by the River titled Spinning Pinwheels! Hers look really cool and she links to a tutorial. No special rulers or paper piecing required! My kinda patchwork.
None of those are a traditional pinwheel, it is the 4 hsts arranged so that they spin. Your last one there is a friendship star which is a block I love too. I guess however, that pinwheels can be whatever you imagine too. Good luck!
I like bog-standard pinwheels, they're so quick to make using the Missouri Star technique 🙂
However the other tab I have open right now may be appropriate if you're after something a bit different as it so happens! http://www.patchworktimes.com/patterns/pick-a-pinwheel/

I just made hers. I used traditional pinwheels because the one crazy one I made made me crazy! Long story. Ended in tears and a trashed pinwheel.
