You may or may not recall that I started the year with a truly ridiculous number of WIPs I’d found – 38 to be precise! For January I set myself the following targets for A Year Of Lovely Finishes:
Ironing board cover – Done!
Winterkissin’ – Not done. Although the top and back will be done by the end of this weekend, it’s just too huge to quilt at home at 84″ x 110″, so I’m hoping I can finally go up to the long armers in Bridge Of Allan and learn a thing or two before applying it to this big boy
Indie Stars x 2 – I got one 100% completed, and the other is basted and ready to quilt. I’d hoped I’d get to quilt it last Sunday but life intervened, so maybe next week…
Messenger bag – Done!
I snuck a photo backdrop in too:
Plus there was the super sized Brit Bee block:
And the start of the Everything And The Kitchen Sink SAL:
As a bonus I also managed to pass on 3 more WIPs to other victims willing volunteers, which is always a bonus ;o)

Looks like a pretty good month to me. Love the ironing board cover – (I hate ironing – last week 27,000 shirts A LIE – only 27 but still toooo many)- but would be bearable with a pretty cover. x
Well done, impressive month! Even more impressed with fobbing WIP's off on unsuspecting others to do them!!!
What a great mix of projects, you have been busy! What underhand means did you employ to pass on your WIPs? Or are you unwilling to share in case you need to employ them again 🙂
I don't know why I'm resisting the big star because I'm going to make one – perhaps a Cameo one – but first I have to think of a solid. Lovely makes Katy 🙂
I'm definitely a thrilled volunteer rather than a victim!
You had a very productive month!! Especially passing the WIPs!!
That Indie Star is so gorgeous!!
that is indeed a huge quilt! Are you planning on doing the long arming yourself?
Using Helen are we?
Did great though xxx
well done for a good month despite all the interruptions
Don't worry I'm never going to forget that you had 38 WIP's.
It looks like you had a fabulous start to the year though. I wish mine was as productive. Must make that paper pieced block.
Great month Katy – and same as Helen, totally happy to take your wip off your hands :o)
great month of makes, have fun at the long armers.
38 WIPs? You got it bad! hehe. I love your finishes. What messenger bag tutorial did you use? I love the zakka one.
Delegating wips? I must try that! Jxo
Can I come and iron ?! Love that print. Your big star is wonderful.
You got a lot accomplished. I too have a ton of UFO's to finish. Great finishes!
Lovely to see them all together! And yay for minus 3 WIPs!
January was a fruitful month with some really great finishes. Keep it up and you'll get all of those UFOs completed.
Some fabulous finishes, it's always nice to amke progress on the WIPs! 🙂
A good start to the year, I'm not surprised you aren't going to quilt that one – it's huge!
My favourite is your Brit Bee block, love the mix of fabrics.
I think you did a brilliant job this month…I really do love that ironing board cover.
Wohoo! you are a WIP machine! 🙂 Love the ironing board cover, that is a great print! And I really love the color combo on the Brit Bee block.
Everytime I see your nicely covered ironing board I feel sorry for my sad, dirty, nasty one. Man, I need to get my butt in gear and cover it!
And I don't think I ever got around to leaving a comment (because I'm lazy like that) but I love, love, love that indie star project. The colors and the quilting on it are gorgeous!
That there's a good month — one and 3/4 quilts, plus other stuff? Woot woot! 😀
so tell me… what did you use under your ironing board cover? i need to recover my mini one and i don't know what to do… did you use insul-brite?
I love your Indie Star quilt! The orange looks fantastic alongside the prints! I love that range, one of my favourites 🙂 And that ironing board cover is fun!
