Well the tedious bits of making the bear are done now, all the cutting out, seam trimming, tacking, sewing and un-tacking is finished, including the 2nd head (grrr) and now we get to the good bit, bringing the wee guy to life. I always start with stuffing the head (I’m not sure why, maybe I like the heads looking accusingly at me until I’ve done the rest of them?!) It takes the longest time to stuff, but at least it helped me find out that there was a weakness in the backing fabric on head #1
So here is the (2nd) head of this wee guy (who is actually a pretty big guy), stuffed and facially sculpted:
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and stick pins in his feet so I can pull his tootsies, ahh, the glamorous life of a bearmaker bearthing a bear…
See…all is well and "heady" looks grr-eat.
The sticking pins part – maybe you should keep that to yourself so teddy lovers don't get upset. You know the story, they don't come to life until they get their very first hug from their creator. (o:

Aww, it's so cute! Stop being mad about the first head. It was meant to be so you could spot the problem early on. 🙂
Look at that wee face!! What a cutie. Is he soft? That fur looks it.
He's got such an inquisitive and surprised look on his face, as if he's wondering where the rest of him is!
P.S. He's staring at me…
He has got a cool face, friendly but inquisitive. Hope you've got some good pain relief for the birthing process, it sounds rather uncomfortable! 🙂
will he look at you accusingly while you stick pins in his toes?
so dang cute! I am not going to think about pins in his feet though.
he looks gorgeous, hope he forgives you for sticking pins in his feet 😉
That picture has just traumatised my girls – if they have nightmares, I am sending them over to yours!
So glad that the bear head is done and his stuffing is no longer leaking out …(except out of his neck ) For crying out loud add a body before his brains fall out!
he looks like he' saying "Harrrumph" he's brilliant
Awesome face. I think you do that first cos it gives the wee dude personality and then you really want to get him a good body and have him complete.
Wilbur has his paws over his ears hearing you are going to stick pins in toes. He can't bear to read any more. He did say he liked the face of your bear and has declared him a boy.

Awww! Look at his little head! He's adorable!
Oh he is so cute! His nose is so neat & tidy! Can't wait til he has the rest of his bear bits attached x
Oh that is slightly creepy… Kinda the reverse of what my boy puppy used to do to his bears – rape, murder and decapitate…usually at meal times in front of company…
His face has such character – now he can watch the progress as you make the rest of him.
Just look at that face, he's to die for 🙂
I do love reading about the birthing process…
What a sweet head! I think it's quite unnerving seeing a bodyless teddy bear.
Ha, this photo is like a bear version of the Godfather.
I see personality there already! I think it's amazing that you can sculpt that into faux fur. You are quite talented my dear. 🙂
His eyes follow you. Told you he was a devil bear 🙂
He has a great face, lots of character, pity he looks like he has been beheaded.
ahh, I think he's lovely. Don't feel bad about the pin-sticking business, I have a pincushion shaped like a teddy!
He's a real character and snaps for that beautifully stitched nose…it's not easy to get a finish as good as yours!
What a cute little face! Although hes looking a little bit impatient waiting for the rest of him to be made 😉
His head is so cute! It's nice to get the hardest step out of the way, first. 🙂
