Well after recovering from the excitement of getting our quilt tops in from round 1 of Stitch Tease, we are starting up again for another year. This time, there are 12 of us, and we’re going to be operating like a regular bee (I know you’ll miss those pixellated blocks terribly ;o) ). For the first month of this round, Queen Bee Di asked for 2-12 1/2″ unfinished blocks using shades of aqua, teal and turquoise with white to help her make a quilt like this one from Ashley at Film In The Fridge:
Her specifics were thus:
I want only aqua, teal and turquoise fabrics, both prints and solids.
Please use white in each block.
I only want the prints to be tone on tone or on a white background.
Do not introduce any other colors in the prints.
If you have it, you can put a piece of Essex Yarn Dyed Linen Flax in one block.
I DO NOT want wonky.
I will add the mustard to my blocks as I arrange the layout.
Here’s what I came up with – the wonkiness is my inability to apply magic tape in a straight line, honest ;o)
They are lovely!
My favourite colour – just send them here, Di will never notice ;o)
Pretty colors!
these look wonderful!
Great, I do love those colours. Was somewhat confused when I saw the photo appear in bloglovin as I was sure it was a Film in Fridge quilt – had to double-check it was a post from you! Juliex
Perfect blocks. No wonky on improv like that is tricky, well done!
This is going to look super with the mustard highlights added.
Cool block!! I love the colours!!
Nice block!
More lovelies for Di xxx
Lovely blocks 🙂
Lovely blocks – it will be a beautiful quilt with those cool mustard highlights!
Gotta say I really love that colour combo!
Great blocks Katy!
Those are lovely blocks. Di is going to have the best quilt.
Spot on! Loving the wee cars! Jxo
Ooow wheels and cars. This block will go very fast. Love it.
Hugs
Gorgeous!
The only thing better would be if I would have thought of it on my own instead of trying to imitate Ashley's quilt.
Good job! Di is going to have a fabulous quilt.
Yours are lovely, I finally pulled a few fabrics for this last night, and might even get round to making them today, maybe. :o)
Two wonderfully great blocks with very little if any wonkiness!
