As I mentioned yesterday, we did Secret Santa in Brit Bee, with a cushion theme. My recipient foolishly said to do what I liked (bwahahaha), so I pulled some fabrics that I thought she would like:
Then I borrowed some inspiration from Rachael’s awesome Pocket Full Of Posies, married it with some matchstick quilting using a mixture of plain and variegated thread, and some nice negative space and came up with:
I created my own flower ‘patterns’ for the applique, which is done on top of the matchstick quilting on the linen:
I then created my own pocket, complete with swirl to try and emulate the back pocket of a pair of jeans:
I hid a zip on the back, but forgot to take a photo of that!
I hope my now less than mystery recipient liked it :o)
Beautiful!! Even a bear would like it!
Thank you for your visit. We hope you are enjoying the holidays.
