Hi, and welcome to Day 8 of the Whole Lotta Bag Along:
Today we’re looking at the zip bridge.
So the good news is, that if you’re doing the changing bag option, you have a day off, as we don’t have this bit! If you’re doing the ‘regular’ option, you could also choose to leave this bit out, however the reason it is in here is that when I was asking for suggestions of what to include, someone asked for this for some additional security, so you can consider whether or not you would find this useful.
Tips For The Bridge Zip
- In step 111, it’s not the end of the world if you fold slightly more than 1/4″ over, just make sure that you do the same for both sides and the lining pieces! You don’t want to fold over too much though, as you’re trying to protect the bag contents from prying eyes and hands.
- I would say that as far as the seam allowances go for step 113 onwards, the same tips as for the back pocket zip, step 2, apply, but please don’t try and cut any zip bits off here, it’s meant to be longer!
If I was making this bag I would go for the zip bridge option, just so I could say it had one.
Looks as though the girls are really coming along with their bags. It will be exciting to see them all.
Extra security on a bag is always worth taking the time for.
I've really been enjoying your bag along posts…..learning lots!!!! Thanks. :o)
