So the verdict at the doc’s last week was bronchitis, and a course of antibiotics. They’ve not really helped, but I think that might be partly my fault – on Thursday the flat downstairs started major building work, such that by the end of the day I had a pounding headache, so on Friday I escaped to a hideyhole to get away from it. Friday I was tired by the end of the day, but Saturday I was only out for an hour in town (the downside to being single meaning that you have to do everything, and sometimes you just have to go out to get stuff), and I felt knackered. I’ve not felt much better since :o/
Anywho, I’m not going to harp on that, so moving on… (did you know I can play the harp BTW? Just a little random aside)
Finishes This Week:
This little pile is now something for a tutorial on the Village Haberdashery blog. I’ll share more when the post goes up, but in the meantime, look, oooh, shiny!
In Progress This Week:
This should totally have been a finish this week, but I started burying threads and lost the will to live. There’s a lot of thread ends. I’m going to take it with me on the train and finish the thing once and for all at the weekend if it kills me!
This is a little, well, I’m not quite sure what it is. I started it thinking I might make it into bag, but now I’m not so sure, I might just finish it and frame it. I still have a bit of work to do on it – bark to work into the tree, and some quilted wind swirls in the background. Most of the prints are Cori Dantini, with the tree in Collage, and the leaves are a couple of text prints and a couple of Indie prints. The background is Essex yarn dyed in leather, and the stitching is all in Aurifil of varying weights (there’s leaves stitched falling from the trees, but they’re quite hard to see in this pic!)
To Be Worked On This Week:
Meh, who knows, I’m committing to nothing!
Hope you’ve had a great week! Linking up, as ever:
I hope you feel better. Nothing like not breathing normally to wear the heck out of you. Love the bits you shared of your project!
Get well soon. I really like that shiny combo 🙂
Hope you feel better son! I am completely distracted by the shiny……. Can't wait to see more.
I hope you feel completely better soon – rest up!
Sounds like you're having a hard time. Hope you begin to pick up soon. I love your tree design – it would look lovely framed and hung. Had no idea you can play the harp – wow, I'm impressed! Juliex
Hello rainbow stack!! I love your maybe-wallhanging, great composistion and overall beautiful vibe. So do you own a big harp? Do you play often? With a band or ensemble of some sort? I think we need a whole post about you playing the harp.
Rainbow stack! I never tire of seeing it. I hope your breathing becomes easier soon. Not fun feeling under the weather! xx JJ
Well I'm glad somebody isn't tired of it ;o) Thanks!
Laughing at the fact you’ve lost the will to live …I dont know why Im finding your significant frustration amusing but I am …Sorry. Good Luck with finishing that and lets hope it DOESNT kill you.
And I think the other project is screaming wall hanging or framed object d’art!
Hoping you are as good as new very soon. I think using that fabric as a framed piece would be stunning.
Tell The Clan to make you a nice bowl of chicken soup.
Hugs, and feel better!!!
Thank you, I've been going through quite the range of soup flavours here!
Kill those germs so you can enjoy the weekend. That's an order. 😉
Hope the antibiotics kick in and you feel better soon. I'm intrigued by your Village Haberdashery pile 🙂
Hope the bronchitis clears off soon and you start feeling more like your chirpy self. I am very impressed that you are a harper.
Did any one tell you, your body needs rest when it is fighting off an illness. Granny is telling you….
I'm good a preaching but not so good at acting on my own words.
Get well soon.
Hugs Kay
Hopefully the antibiotics start working their magic soon and you start feeling better. And hopefully the people below you quit with the banging!
On an unrelated note – is that gold leather? I'm intrigued…
Oh dear building work and bronchitis is definitely not a good combination, hope both are gone soon.
I am beginning to believe that the rainbow pile progress is a figment of your imagination!
sorry you don't feel well this breathing/chesty things make you feel so drained and zap all the energy. I am intrigued to the see the tree bark stitchery project.
i hope you feel better soon!
i love your autumn scene. A little shiny gold leaf from your scrappy bits in photo 1 would be awesome in there.
ooooh! Shiny object! Can't wait to see that tutorial!
OOOH! I am loving the creativity in your collage! LOVE that fabric line! 🙂 feel better!
Loving the collage. Hope you are feeling better, it is horrid when you are on your own and need some TLC.
Get a different course of antibiotics and lots of rest:)) if u make the folks downstairs feel guilty enough, maybe they will make u some soup 😉
I'm reading from both ends of my Bloglovin list in an attempt yo catch up! Hope you're feeling better, love the new fabric, and the tree pic, and am getting really impatient about the rainbow!!!!!!
Hope you were able to get some R&R over the weekend and are now feeling better.
Btw, I keep forgetting to mention, all your posts on the home page are showing time instead of date posted, so they all say 17.00.
