Whew, this week was mostly about getting wee bits and pieces done before going away on Monday. I had to resign myself to the fact that I just wasn’t going to be able to make all the bags I’d planned, and that was okay, so I switched focus, and now have more travel handmade items than you can shake a stick at! I was all about using up the ‘good stuff’ this week, I’m really trying to work on that this year. On Sunday afternoon I handed my machine over to my gran, as it’s having a spa day or two while I’m away, and the shop was picking it up from her, so that was effectively the end of what I could achieve before going without having to go up on top of the wardrobe for Baby Brother, and really, I needed a bit of an enforced rest…
Finishes This Week
The yellow panel from last week united with the cool Giraffe panel from Cori Dantini’s latest line, Hello World, and became a bag. I’d show you a photo, but I’ll give it its own post later this week, so here’s a sneak preview, isn’t it pretty? ;o)
Smash book cover – to be honest I stole the overall idea for this book rather shamelessly from Cori at Let’s Eat Grandpa. I saw a photo of the inside of a book she’d made to go to Snap Conf, where she’d washi taped business cards that she’d collected. It seemed a great idea, but frankly I couldn’t live with just a plain cover, so I just had to make one…
Then the washi tape needed a wee bag to go in so I didn’t lose it:
Then my business cards needed their own wee bag:
Then I needed a pencil case to hold the coloured pens for taking notes in the book:
Then my old phone pouch shed its button and all but marched to the bin in disgust, so it needed to be replaced (IG pic, sorry):
Then I needed a lanyard and forgot to take a photo, so you’ll just have to trust me on that!
In Progress This Week:
Don’t be ridiculous, what else do you think I could have done?!
To Be Worked On This Week:
See above…
Linking up with Lee if I get internet access:
Yay, lots of goodies. I like all those fussy cuts!
Hahaha don't you need a bag for all those bags! 😉 All brilliant and that book is so fun!
So you're offically a bag lady!! I can see why you didn't stop at one, they are such cute bags, and the book is fun too, I hope you tape your business cards everywhere!
It seems like one thing led to another for you this week…books , bags for book makings, pencil case…etc etc
I completely agree with “what else could you have got done”. I reckon you didn’t sleep at all this week !
So many pretty projects. Enjoy all your sewing
Love 'em 🙂
Sounds like you are ready for a nice break. Have as good time.
Hugs Kay
You must be all bagged out by now! Have a great trip.
You've got me laughing away here with your bags. I love them all! But then you'll need a bag to keep your Smash Book and other bags in, then a bag or two to keep your clean laundry and shoes apart in your suitcase, a bag for your suitcase (so you see it coming down the line at the claim) and clearly a bag for you, to make it easy for Leanne to pick you up.
Oh dear, genes will out. Not just another "wee beg," but lots of them. I'm proud of you 😉
Dad
Have a great time – love all the bags!
aye, yer a smashin wee baglady 🙂
Someday, I think you make a quilt made from blocks based on photos of blocks that you've used your secret hide-y technology on. 🙂
Good grief! Not surprised your machine needed a service!!! Hope you and your bags have a great time!!!
