Is there anybody out there? You may vaguely remember me, you know, the occasional author of this here blog and even more infrequent sewer of late? No? Oh well, thanks for visiting anyway ;o)
One of the spectators I was assisting at the Commonwealth Games last week gave me a really icky cold/cough/chest infection thing, meaning that I didn’t end up doing the additional shifts I’d offered to do yesterday and today. I was really torn about it, and hummed and hawed about calling to cancel, but honestly, I’ve felt so bad I couldn’t infect anyone else, plus I’ve lost my voice, so it’s not like I’d have been much use at talking to and directing people! Having spoken to another former Tollcross-er though, who had volunteered at this other location on Thursday, she assured me they had plenty of people anyway, so it made me feel rather less guilty.
What this did mean though, is that I’ve had a little bit of sewing time over the weekend.
This has turned into a project and gone in the post, and I’ll be able to show you more in, um, about 3 months time:
This bundle, now that the replacement for my cutting faux pas arrived, has become a complete quilt front and back. I’m afraid my lack of energy means that I’m not setting up the photo studio for now, sorry, but I’ll try and show you soon:
And finally, I’ve started work with this little bundle of scraps from the lovely Karen, which I’ll be able to show you the results of in about 4 months time (sorry!) Karen sells these scrap bags for £5 a go, so why don’t you splurge just a little and have a play whilst you wait to see what I’ve been up to.
Hope you’ve been getting in some quality sewing time of late, I’m ever so slowly catching up on my blog reading (down to 6 days ago, but when I hit each blog for the first time, I’m trying to get all the posts in since then, so it’s getting faster as I move up the list)
Welcome back Katy and I hope your cold is better soon. I just, this minute finished all the old posts in my reader from July, and then your's popped up. I am sure you will catch up faster than I did for sure. I love all your pretty bundles of fabrics.
You have been gone somewhere? I haven't noticed, lol. Get better soon! Love the fabrics you are showing off. Need to check the postage for scrap bundles 🙂
How generous of that spectator! Looks like there are lots of interesting posts to come from you in the future 🙂 Hope you are feeling better soon.
I hope you are feeling better very soon!! And really?!! This blog post was a bunch of stuff you can't show us!! The piles of fabric do look pretty though so I might let you off 😉
Hellllooooooo back! *g* Exciting stuff all round – not the ick, obvs.
Hello from the other voiceless Cameron. I lost mine on Monday, so I expect it was someone else who got us both. Hope you're feeling better son – cough, cough,
Dad
Are those Christmas trees made of mustaches? Hahaha!
I'm glad you had some time to sew, but I hope you feel better soon!
Feel better soon. At least you got some fabric play time!
Hope you are feeling better now. Love the Christmas fabric.
Alas, still icky, but thank you!
Well I've totally topped you on being absent! Sorry you're under the weather but happy it got you playing with fabric–and really cute fabric! Esp the pink/lime green ones. I'm not into pink but love lime green and those just look fun. Haven't touched fabric myself in….gosh….since before Christmas? I dunno. But, the garden season has begun to dwindle down, and plus, the kids start school in a little over a week, so it will be fabric season soon!
secret sewing… phahff :-p everyones sewing in secret these days! (jealous….) glad you're not completely comatose after your "week off"…. the ick sucks though. take care! xxx
At least you have some lovely fabric to keep you company!
Well done on all your volunteering. Kylie told me she was most impressed 😉
Hope you're feeling better soon, summer colds are just rude. I have a cold too, but at least it's winter over here. x x
What a shame all your volunteering ended up with a poorly you, hope you bounce back soon.
Sorry you've been sick after your lovely efforts to help at the Games. You managed quite a bit of stitching for feeling under the weather! Get better soon.
Ya boo sucks to germy people! hope you are feeling better x
Poor Katy! Hope you feel better soon. At least you had some lovely fabrics to play with ( though not sure about the moustache Christmas trees!)
Your idea of being away a long time is just the usual gaps between my posts! Sorry to hear you are under the weather (and lost your voice again – how frustrating!). You obviously have a lot of exciting stuff going on though seeing as you can't show us anything 😉
Presume we will be seeing all these projects in print in the not too distant future then. Woohoo!
HELLOOO! I have one of those throat, cough things too and it's awful, not ill enough to stay in bed but definitely too bad to raise my voice at children! Hope you're back to full sewing strength soon.
A lots goinf to happen in a few months???
I do hope you enjoyed the Games.
Hugs Kay
The volunteering sounds great but sorry to hear you've got the shocking cold/cough lurgy that's going round. Hope it clears soon!
P.S. You'll be unsurprised to hear that I haven't added to your blog reading list while you've been gone ;o)
Sorry you've been so poorly, I've been kept up to date on your comings and goings on IG, so I hadn't been 'here' fore a while to check up on you. Get better soon, looking forward to seeing all the results of your secret sewing :0)
Sorry you are sickly but glad you got to sew. Can't wait to see what you have been working on. Feel better soon!
Feel better! Also, I disappear all the time from my blog. 🙂 That's why the interwebs invented RSS readers!
Hope you are feeling better already! And hope you get some sewing time in while you recover. 🙂
Wishing you health, good drugs, rest and lots of sewing time, my friend 🙂
