So, another Saturday, another mad road trip. This time it was with the lovely Lynne from Tinking Along, and her husband who are over on holiday in the UK. I took them on the extended Cameron Highland tour, taking in Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, Oban, Lochgilphead, Inverary and back to Glasgow again. We had lunch at the Clachaig, at the end of Glencoe, which does fabulous, hearty local food, and then we stopped for dinner at the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar just outside Inverary. It was a long, but fun day, and needless to say rather diminished my sewing ability for the week, but shh, just enjoy the photos of the day out instead ;o)
It was a little ‘brisk’ at Appin, overlooking Castle Stalker:
Jack was a little worried that this might be all there was for dinner:
Then the most enormous local mussels appeared as a started, and he got fell in:
Feeling that he hadn’t had enough seafood, he dove into the hand dived scallops (also local) for the main course:
Ever a sucker for dessert, he decided to try and con Lynne into sharing her Eton mess:
Before rounding it all off with my lemon posset and raspberry coulis:
I hope you also got to spend a great week with friends :o)
That looks like a lovely way to spend a Saturday! I hope Jack got a biscuit to put in his bag for later…
That sounded like a wonderful weekend! The lemon posset looks yummmmmmy!
That's one long drive – but a beautiful one too. Think you picked out a perfect route and a great couple of places to stop for food…..making me feel hungry! Juliex
Well, that sure was a great way to spend Saturday, sewing will always be waiting for you. Glad you took time to enjoy friends and travels.
Yes, this is true, the machine will always be sitting there patiently, it was fun to go off gallivanting :o)
Looks a great trip. Although last time friends (thankfully not me) went to a Loch Fyne for Oysters it ended badly! Glad you're trip was better!
what a whirlwind tour you took them on! Lovely places though. You're looking so well Katy!
Thanks so much for the food shots – Its breakfast time here and Im so hungry but now all I want is seafood . Since the only seafood available at this time of the morning is a Filet –O-Fish , Im going to have to wait until dinner time to satisfy my urge !
Sounds like a great road trip !
Jack is such a well fed bear:) I wish I could come and do a Scottish road trip!!
Jack, have you got a sweet tooth????? I see you siddle up to people with lovely desserts.

I'm with Jack–never enough seafood! Yum!
