Nearly a year ago I signed up to receive a Pay It Forward gift from Kay at Shocking Hocking. And then promptly forgot about it. So when I came home the other night from work and found a parcel propped against the wheel of my bike that had come all the way from Australia, I was more than a little perplexed, especially when I saw the name on the return address. I couldn’t even remember giving Kay my address, so I was scratching my head as I opened the door and hauled it and a bunch of bags of shopping, laptop and lunchbag in. I put everything away, and then tackled my parcel, getting more and more intrigued as I did so.
And here’s what I found inside:
Now I have to say that while I have admired all those Sew Together bags appearing online, I had been pretty sure I couldn’t be bothered to make myself one with everything else I have going on, and now I don’t have to, thanks Kay!
And here’s what was inside. I’m locking the Tim Tams away due to their high level of demand, especially given how all of my bee mates know where I live (even if they aren’t local themselves ;o) ) I shall carefully ration them out, and it looks like I have until February next year to do so :oD
So now here’s where you come in. If you would like to receive a random surprise from me in the post over the course of the next year, please let me know in the comments section below. The first 3 comments saying they want in will qualify, and in signing up you agree to pay it forward, in turn, sometime in the year after receiving your gift from me, to 3 other people.
I'm impressed by the fact that your bike made it all the way out to Australia without your noticing, then came back with a parcel tied to its wheel! Sorry, can't help being a pedant, you know, but it's both a lovely bag and a wonderful surprise for you – especially given the week you've had 🙂
That's an amazing gift! I'm glad it didn't get rained on (which is what happens to all my parcels) 🙂 Please could I join in as well?
I'd love to join, sounds like a great idea. Alex x (invoguestamping@gmail)
All of a sudden I'm seeing these Sew Together bags everywhere!! Your bag from Kay is such fun colours. How come you haven't scoffed down those Tim tams?
Think that having someone else make a sew together bag as a gift is the perfect way to get one. A lovely PIF.
That is the best way to make a sew together bag, have someone else do it!!!! It looks brilliant and a perfect pif present!
I've had fabric pulled since fqr for one, but just can't summon up the effort for all those zips!!
What a special bag. Of course I love it seeing it came from Australia. I relly do love those colours, and the Tim Tam's.
Hugs Kay
Lovely surprise gifts – that bag really is something special.
Hmnnn- what's happening in February ? And by the way – any time you want Tim Tams just say the word. I dont mind being your dealer.
What a lovely surprise! Jxo
Gah….so much awesome. Love the bag…coveting the TimTams.
I would love to participate in a pay-it-forward surprise. It would be a challenge to try and figure out what to send to a complete stranger.
aaah, what a lovely surprise. Enjoy 🙂
Well lucky you! It's gorgeous
mmmm tim tams, and a lovely bag as well
TimTams!! so cool. bag is fantastic too. i'd love something from you, but i'd never get stuff done for others so no. 🙁
What an awesome pay it forward gift! I too have been eyeing those bags, might have to buy that pattern, thinking they would make excellent Christmas presents.
Ah see, this is why I should keep up with my blog reading. Too late! Those sew together bags look like a beast to make so lucky you getting one for 'free'. I've always wanted to try Tim Tams too – you're lucky I don't know where you live (you might find that Jack would go missing too if I did!)
heh! It's been a while since I've seen a pay it forward post… sometimes it's good when people forget because then it gets revived! 😀
Yes the thought of sewing all those zips has put me off making myself a sew together bag … how lucky are you that someone made one for you and packed it full of Tim Tams?!
Lovely surprise!
If you still have space, sign me up for the pay it forward. Or, heck, if you know someone who needs a little lift, send me their address and I'll start the process on this end!! Xx! Such a great idea!
Great bag! This is the first one I've seen and it looks very handy.
Tim tams freeze if you want to ration them past Feb. And if not, rumors are I'm getting a big goody box in the new year with a year's supply of tim tams, so I could maybe be persuaded to share 🙂
