This little FQ bundle from the new Tula Pink Moonshine line recently dropped through my door.
It’s a curated bundle of a mix across the 2 colourways in the line, although they do all play nicely together.
My question for you, is what would you make with this? A quilt? A bag? Something else entirely? I absolutely adore Tula fabrics, but I do admit to struggling with what to do with the larger prints, like the deer, to truly show them off.
PS. I have a fair idea of what I’d like to do with it, you know, when I get a spare moment, but I’m completely open to alternative suggestions (not least because on 2 projects in the last week I’ve had a complete body swerve at the last minute!)
I love quilts but you have several bags that would look great in that fabric and show it off so nicely. It's a beautiful bundle
I love Tula Pink. I wish I could find it on sale somewhere. The last batch I had I made a Granny Square quilt. Turned out wonderful. You could make a purse or some pillows or pillowcases or needlecases for friends, Some stockings as gifts would be great. Make then as high heels.
I'd like to see a shoulder bag along with a padded envelope for a tablet and a co-ordinating pouch for the charger.
I am currently working with one of her larger prints (the squirrels) from an older line and I am sewing a sleep sack for my baby. A large bag would be great too! Or one of the square in a square quilts with fussy cuts of the large print for the inner squares.
the big prints would look nice on front panel of bag but I see giant Lone star 🙂
Think I'd make a 241 bag, or stash it for years!
I would put 6 of the fq's together and make an infinity scarf! I know they are quilting cottons, but they play so nicely together I would think they would be cozy around your neck!
They'd make a great bag but I think I'd make a quilt, something with large feature squares of the fabric combined with smaller blocks to use the off-cuts. Or something like that!
I 'd make a cushion cover showing the deer in the middle, yellow border and a second patchwork squares border outside. The deer is pure art, you could just keep it and treasure it.
I know, I love those deer! I love *all* her big animal prints though, I have a ridiculous collection of them lol
I can't tell how large the prints are but the colours would look ace as a sew together bag.
Sarahs comment, word for word, haha!!
Definitely a quilt – with large pieces of fabric to show off those designs. I must confess that I struggle with using big patterned fabrics as well….
I see a bag or even a couple of bags featuring those gorgeous prints! But then I am in the process of picking out a pattern for my next purse right now, so I'm seeing bags everywhere!
If you're not making a bag, I'd do a table runner with the larger prints as focal fabrics in the center bordered with the remaining prints. I LOVE color in my home!
stretch the deer over a canvas and stick it on the wall!
I would make a nice sunshiney quilt for summer. I don't make bags!!!!
I have purchased some of this line and I'm pairing it with some Rustique, Cotton and Steel and some linen and making a quilt I saw in a magazine called "Rings of Bliss" by Sharon Holland. There are big pieces and little pieces…perfect for these prints.
Oh…and I think that's the problem with big prints…everyone thinks they have to leave them big but they work really well cut up in smaller pieces too!!:)
A bag or a fussy cut lonestar! (or both!)
I'm like you about not knowing what to do with her larger prints. Sorry, no help here! :}
Oh these are beautiful – what to do with them apart from send them to me? Pet them? Stroke them? Put them in a quilt!
It must be the name, but I see hexagons like honeycomb with this one…
A triangle quilt !
I would make a mess:-)
