This week has been all about the ick.  I think I caught it on the way home from Dublin, but it’s been occupying me now for the best part of the last week.  I’ve coughed up at least one lung by now, my head hurts, my throat hurts, and I’m running out of clean hankies.  Now that the overshare is out of the way, you’ll understand that my sewing productivity has been on the low side!  I have been drawing up lots of blocks though, with round 4 of Brit Bee swinging into action, and then I drew up a potential pattern for my Schnitzel and Boo mini swap and had a wibble on that.  Next I went virtual fabric shopping for some collaboration projects I have coming up, and after a ridiculous amount of time trying to satisfy my OCD in terms of fabric layout, I sewed precisely 1 strip of charm squares for the class I’m teaching at the Stitchery next month.

Finishes This Week:

Ha!

In Progress This Week:

This is my potential mini for the Schnitzel and Boo swap.  I think it satisfies my partner’s general likes in terms of pattern, but I’m having a total crisis on the fabric front, so maybe you can help me.  Her named designer preferences are Heather Ross and Cotton + Steel, and her colour preferences are vibrant fall and scrappy with little pink, no pastels and no dull colours.  I’m having a bit of a challenge matching the vibrant fall colours with the fabric designers though, and I think I’m losing my mind!  Where I’ve got to is that the circle centres should be fussy cuts of some kind, and the background should be LV scrappy, but what fabrics to use for the star points?  I don’t have a lot of HR fabric, and while I have a good selection of C+S, I can’t see vibrant fall in there, mainly due to the lack of oranges and reds.  While I don’t mind purchasing some fabric to make this, I can’t even think of where to start!  Anyone got any bright ideas?

I think this might be my starter block for this round of Brit Bee, I’m just waiting on some fabric to arrive so that I can sew it up.  The colours are a mystery for now ;o)

This is what I managed to sew that 1 measly strip of charm squares from.  I did cut all the (not pictured) solid fabric too though, so that’s an extra bonus, right?!  The class is completely sold out now though, so I’d better pull my socks up and get stitching…
