The whole Christmas and New Year break always throws me, and thanks to a couple of extra days I had I didn’t go back to work until today. Anyway I’ve kind of pootled around a bit, fixed my sewing machine, made my next QN project, finished a little secret sewing and made 2 absolutely hugemungous blocks for my Moda Building Blocks quilt (which is meant to be getting sewn on my Featherweight, but it still hasn’t been serviced)
How about you? Did you have a cool yule? A hip and happening New Year? Maybe just stayed in and sewed? ;o)
Finishes This Week:
Quilt Now Issue 20 project. No photos, natch.
Secret sewing – see above.
In Progress This Week:
This little Moda Building Blocks number is a mere 18″, which may seem large, but was positively miniscule next to the second one!
And this was the second one, a little 30″ number. I’m making this quilt entirely from stash, but trying to match the colours to the original pattern, these huge blocks use a lot of fabric, but luckily I had a large cut of the green in my ‘general quilts’ pile, and I have a lot of the Moda Grunge background leftover from my MSW quilt (apologies for the terrible lighting, I forgot to get one in the minimal daylight we’ve had recently)
To Be Worked On This Week:
Extracting finger from posterior and writing up a pattern or two.
Maybe I’ll make another ridiculously large block
Get over going back to work…
Hope you all have a great week! Linking up with Lee and the gang:
I love the elephants in the first block! Hope your return to work hasn't come as too much of a shock…
Lots of varieties of that green – looks lovely and crisp with the White
love the green and love the fabric. Looks like fun.
Those are lovely blocks Katy, so bright and cheerful a much needed burst of colour on these grey and miserable days.
Those are such fun blocks and good luck with the pattern writing!
I love that large block, that green is so fresh, bring on Springtime!
