Do you ever reach a point where you’ve sewn loads of ‘have to’ things, and you cannot possibly do another without screaming? I reached that point on Monday night when I couldn’t do another stitch on something that wasn’t 100% fun and with no strings attached, so I broke out my previously set aside Cross Cut QAL mutant and embraced the rainbow. I felt so much better afterwards that I may need to just play for the rest of the evenings this week :oD This coming weekend is, of course, fall Quilt Market in Houston, and while I’d love to be there, instead I’ll be hanging out with a bunch of my online friends for an event there, so check out my Instagram feed over the weekend for the chance to win a whole host of prizes from some fabulous designers and companies, oh, and me ;o)
Finishes This Week:
Nope.
In Progress This Week:
This is my rainbow. I snapped this last night as I was trying to work things out:
But as a reminder, this is what the cross cut bit looks like when it’s not all scrumpled up:
I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes :o)
There was also some boring secret squirrel stuff that I can’t share.
To Be Worked On This Week:
- Embracing the rainbow
- More secret stuff
- Instagram event for Market
Hope you have a great week!
Yes! I’ve felt that way! Hope this ‘me’ time is refreshing – and of course, I enjoy seeing where you take your Crosscut quilt!
Can so relate, sounds like my life. In fact last week my husband said to me “when are you going to make something for yourself?”. When he’s noticing it’s a sign that things are really bad. Good on you for having a night ‘off’!
Glad you did some fun sewing and I hope you really are carrying on with the sewing for fun for the rest of the week!
Absolutely have been at that point many times and what you’re doing about it is exactly the best thing. I’ve been doing something similar myself. It’s been ages since I’ve made use of my painting supplies but recently came up with an idea for combining the sewing and the painting and crossing names off my Christmas gift list. Can’t even begin to tell you how amazing that feels.
Oh my gosh, I couldn’t see the odds, just lusting after the yummy rainbow fabrics!!!!
An Instagram event, eh? Are you going to market?!
