The cat is out of the bag, I’m teaching a new class on Skillshare, How To Make A Basic Tote Bag, where you can learn how to make a simple tote bag to your own customised dimensions.
In the class I will walk you through the calculations of how much fabric to cut and buy, before showing you two different methods for sewing your bag together, with a bonus section at the end on working with laminate fabrics. This is a beginner level class, but it’s a great jumping off point for more complicated bags, and hopefully there will be further classes to walk you through that too.
These are the 2 bags that I will walk you through in the class, and I show all the measurements when we walk through the worksheets if you want to make one exactly the same:
For those of you that are unfamiliar with Skillshare and how it works, you pay for an annual membership which gives you access to every single class in their catalogue, so no need to sign up for lots of individual classes which you pay for each time. There’s everything from Design to Photography, Business to Film, Technology to Fashion, Culinary to Writing and of course Crafts and Lifestyle, so there’s courses for all sorts. If you use this link to sign up, you even get the first 3 months for $0.99!
I hope to see some of you over there, but if it’s not for you, feel free to share with anyone that it would suit.
Well done – another feather to your now!
*bow*!!!!
Looks like you’ve found something to do with all of that free time you seem to have. ;0)
Sounds like fun. Had never heard of Skillshare but will be checking it out soon 🙂
