This week I’ve mostly been playing with my feet. No, I did not regress to my infancy, nor take up pilates or yoga, I just broke out all the attachments that I’d got for my Featherweights/99k/201k and tried them out to see what they did. Now that I’ve done that, I might actually revisit all of Big Brother’s attachments, as I rarely use any of them other than the standard, zipper, darning and buttonhole feet. I know that I have ones for Big Brother that I also have for the Singers, but the Singers were better than the Brothers at explaining how to use them, as there were a couple of lightbulb moments with things I’d set aside in disgust previously, like the binding attachment. I also finished the red patchwork thing from last week (that I can’t share just yet) and did a lot of planning of upcoming projects – index cards, notebooks and pencils, oh my!
This week it’s my gran’s birthday, so we’ll be partying like a 92 year old for the weekend :oD
Finishes This Week:
This is now finished and on its way to QN Towers:
I played with most of these:
And created tiny hemmed bits:
Bigger hemmed and bound bits:
Blind hemmed bits (I know, it looks like I was drunk, I really wasn’t!)
Gathered and ruffled bits:
Pintucked bits:
Edge stitched (lace) and zigzagged bits (lace onto black bit, I was all about doubling up of bits at this stage!)
And finally I buttonholed with the 2 different types I had (the one on the right was far more hit and miss and I was just randomly selecting options, while the one on the left used cams):
In Progress This Week:
Pattern planning for QN
To Be Worked On This Week:
- Dusting off my party dress
- Spending time with my family
- And maybe a bit more planning, there’s bits of notepad everywhere!
Hope you all have a fantastic week!
Doesn’t seem a whole year since your gran’s last birthday . Enjoy this time together and party hard !
All those feet and I never change mine . A whole world out there . I must get my free motion foot out again . But then again , if it ain’t broke don’t fix it
Perhaps some time will get carved out this week to play with my feet. Since the Janome was put into service only two of the feet it came with have been used. I just need to locate the manual. BTW I cleaned out the fuzz crud properly thanks to your last post. You were right, compressed air sends it to places it shouldn’t go.
Have fun celebrating with your gran.
wow. That is ALOT of feet!!
Looks like fun!!!!
