Ah, it’s the end of my working week today as I’m off for a long weekend over in Fife. Then I have 9 more days until I’m off for 3 weeks for Christmas. Not that I’m counting or anything. In the end I spent Friday working in bed and a good chunk of Saturday sleeping, but then I rallied to play with a few bits and pieces and ended up creating a wee project that went a little viral on IG and FB. On Monday night a WIP from earlier this year just threw itself at my design wall, and by last night I had a good few blocks sewn together! I’ve also been packing a few projects to take away with me so we’ll see how many get sewn and how much time I spend wandering around the beaches and wee fishing villages near where I’ll be staying. Jack has already packed himself ready for an adventure anyway.
Finishes This Week:
I used an embroidery pattern by Sherri Falls to create the truck with the tree, then I adapted the Retreat Bag pattern by Emmaline Bags to make the pouch. The bottom is some glitter vinyl from U Handbag.
Pre-pouch creation:
The finished article. There are wires in the top of the bag that mean when the zip is open the top holds itself open. The vinyl bottom helps it stand by itself:
In Progress This Week:
This is the last photo I have of the older WIP that threw itself at my design wall. Hopefully I’ll have photos of a finished top soon…
To Be Worked On This Week:
- Relaxing
- Playing on the beach
- A little idle sewing
Hope you all have a great week!
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
The bag definitely has a Christmas feel to it. :o) Also a vey clever construct and another great gift idea. Is the older WIP the Bento blocks?
Have fun bumming around at the beach. Relax and enjoy.
I love that bag! Have a lovely break xx
Love your pouch Katy – really fantastic!! And enjoy yourself in ‘sunny’ Fife! 😉
Viral indeed. I am not a bit surprised, that truck is so adorable on so many levels. Its is the right level of sweetness and just perfect made into a pouch. I want to go and do something of my own now.
Enjoy your holiday but wrap warm on those beaches. No skinny dipping Jack.
