I have to admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Red Nose Day, aka Comic Relief, which happens every 2 years here in the UK. I have noses from every year, and since they started doing mixtures of noses specially for a year, I’ve been known to stand in Sainsbury’s feeling up the packets. I have had, among other things, car noses, air freshners, deely boppers, mugs, pins and, err, this year a couple of actual stuffed noses. I don’t feel in the least bit guilty about this particular addiction though because a good chunk of the money goes to charity, so win-win.
Anywho, red nose obsessions aside, this year they’ve teamed up with Mollie Makes to produce a special Red Nose Day Crafternoon special:
All sorts of big names have contributed a load of fun projects, and here’s some of my favourites to entice you to go out and support my favourite charity:
I am dying to find out how to make pom poms with faces, it must be some kind of black magic…
And then who doesn’t need a crocheted tapir? Although I can’t actually crochet…
Then there’s these speedy makes, I’m particularly drawn to the enamel mug, the fimo cacti and the ice cream magnets:
So what are you waiting for? Go out and find one in your local Sainsbury’s, or you can get one online here.
Note that I’m in no way sponsored by Mollie Makes, I just love Red Nose Day!
A hand-crocheted tapir – every home should have one!
Red Nose Day?? Totally stymied by this particular holiday as I’ve never heard a thing about it until now. Do you still have all of the noses? Just the idea of such a collection triggers all sorts of mind pictures. You should post a photo of the stuffed noses since that particular mind picture can’t possibly be as entertaining as the real thing. ;0)
The pompom faces are brilliant, will have to keep an eye out for this!
last time the magazine sold out locally, thanks for the prompt to buy one this year. Whether I make anything or not is rather superfluous I suppose!
