I’ve picked up some cool new tools recently, so I thought I’d start a new series to share the love with all of you because some of these are genius, and some are just cool and you need them ;o)

First up are the G Easy Ruler Sticker designed by Gudrun Erla.  These definitely fall into the genius category and I’ve been happily using them all weekend for some secret sewing:

‘And what are they for?’  I hear you ask.  Well, they’re designed to be stuck onto your rulers so you can quickly find certain measurements.  Here is my adorned 20 1/2″ square Creative Grids ruler that I use all the time for bag making.  As you can see I had a few different dimensions that I needed to cut, but the different marks made sense to me, honest:

You can choose exactly where to put them to make it easiest for you to use them, and they’re actually repositionable if you want them to be.  I found it was easiest for me to pop them about 3/4″ from the edge so I could still see the numbers, just to be on the safe side:

They also work well with Gudrun’s Stripology rulers that she sells through Creative Grids, as demonstrated on the back of the pack:

I also heard of someone using them to mark a seam allowance on their machine bed – really, there are no end of uses for little arrow stickers, but I do like them for their intended use!

You get 192 in a pack, of 3 different colours, so they should keep you going for a while (depending on how much you’re cutting of course!).  If you can’t find them in your local quilt shop, ask if they can order some for you, or you can grab them online at the Fat Quarter Shop here.
