This last week I have to admit I’ve been kind of clinging on with my fingertips trying to get through my last days of work before I go on holiday this Friday. As of today I would say I’m down to that very last finger! I did get a couple of finishes in this week though, so I have some new bedding to take with me (tell me that you take your own quilts and pillows on holiday when you can?!) Anyway, I’ll be away for about 2 1/2 weeks, with my neighbour guarding the stash, and I’ve already been given tips on where to find fabulous fabric shops on the way to Austria, as well as where I’ll be staying in Innsbruck. I’ll be posting on Instagram while I’m away, so if you want to catch up with the mad Katy and Jack tour, you can find us there @the_littlest_thistle otherwise I’ll catch you here when I’m back :o)
Finishes This Week:
So my only aim for this week was to be able to finish 2 pillowcases to take with me on holiday. I’d grabbed some of Anna Maria Horner’s Floral Retrospective line recently, with pillowcases in mind, and somehow in the middle of the work madness of the last couple of weeks it seemed like this was the one thing I needed to get done!
I also finished a quilt! I made this top from Melody Miller’s Mustang collection for Cotton + Steel over a year ago and had forgotten all about it until I was sorting my scraps a couple of weeks ago and found the leftovers. I dug the top out and over the past 2 weeks I’ve been chipping away at the quilting and binding a little bit at a time. I finally got it finished and washed last night, so haven’t been able to visit the pet carpark for a full photo yet, that will need to wait til I get back, or until I find a handy place when I’m away on holiday…
In Progress This Week:
Yeah, I got nothing else, clinging by my fingertips remember!
To Be Worked On This Week:
- Jack has packed the things for his new bed to take with us, we’ll see what gets done
- Holiday baby!
Hope you have a great couple of weeks :o)
As long as jack gets his bed you’re all set . I take it you are not flying if you are taking quilt and pillows ?
Have a fabulous time, but not so fabulous that you don’t find time to make Jack’s bed!
Austria?! How awesome! I’ll be watching your Ig feed for sure! Thanks again for your pillowcase tutorial…I tried a different one tonight that I had already planned for – want to try yours soon tho!
DO take care – hang on cuz Friday is ALMOST here!!
Relax, have fun and enjoy your holiday. Can’t wait to see Jack’s new bed because I’m that sure you won’t disappoint him.
You’ll be glad to escape the incessant rain, happy hols.x
