Remember how I told you I was all done with the European Championships and would be getting a break last weekend? Well, turns out I was wrong – I got an emergency e-mail around 9:30 on Saturday night saying that they were desperate for people to work on the cycling road race through the city centre, so could I just be there at 6:15 the next morning. Which I did, had a fun day and caught a chest infection… I suppose that’s what happens when you sit in the cold and rain all day! Anywho, I did get some sewing done before that so I have another completed top to join the ‘to be quilted’ queue, my August Rainbow Triangle BOM blocks done, and dug out the bag I was procrastinating on a while back. I had one of those moments of genius when I realised that I didn’t need to do the flap first, which is where I’m having the mental block, so I started making up the other bits, or at least I had started before I got hijacked by the road cycling. This coming weekend we have our mad company Ironman challenge for the company charity which I’m driving a support vehicle for. The charity provides support to children who live or go to school within a 10 mile radius of one of our offices, and we supply things such as wheelchairs, trikes, iPads etc to those who need additional aids to get through life.
