Oh I had a lovely relaxing weekend this weekend! I did a big bit of business (which I’ll share shortly), slept a lot, read a lot, and finished a WIP from 2016 that in my mind had loads to finish, but in reality was only 3 1/2 hours – doh! I now have plans for a bigger version, because I love the one I’ve finished and I could do with a new bag for my gym/shower stuff on weekdays. Miraculously I’d not only written up almost the entire pattern for the smaller one originally, I still had all the photos for the step by step bits, so I may be able to share this at some point so the rest of you can have a play. This coming Sunday I’m off to play in an Enchanted Forest, but on Saturday I have plans to make some blocks for the latest round of #getyourquiltywishesgranted on IG, because apparently I don’t stash the cool fabric that everyone wants ;o) J/K I just find it somehow a bit more satisfying to send blocks for a special purpose.
How about you, did you have a great week?
Finishes This Week:
My WIP that required very little ‘P’ to finish it. I’ve been planning this rolltop bag for, about 3 1/2 years, don’t ask why I didn’t pull my finger out before now! It’s a waxed cotton outer with leather strapping and a quilting cotton lining with a zipper pocket. The straps are adjustable and padded, and that front pocket closes with a snap, which is a little hidden in this pic.
In Progress This Week:
Finishing that WIP finished me off for progress this week!
To Be Worked On This Week:
- A pirate block
- 2 kitten blocks
- 4 small heart blocks
Have a great week all!
Very impressive. It’s hard to believe you were able to accomplish all that in such a short period of time. When you say bigger version it made me wonder what is the size of this beauty? I keep going back to the photo and thinking, “Wow”!
That bag is cute as heck! A little jelly of all of your progress but I did have some fun family time going on here (including a family photo session–which no one ever wants to do and then all are super glad it’s over and that we all have pics in hand because that means we can let another 5 slip by before we have to do it all again–so I guess that’s my big “finish”?) . Nothing much ahead but solid sewing time while looking out at some fantastically colored fall trees so I’m pretty excited.
