So I got very little done this week. For the last month or so I’ve been running on about 4-5 hours sleep, until this last week when it’s gone down to 3 1/2 – 4 hours. I’m exhausted. I was having a problem getting to sleep a few months ago but I’ve solved that issue now (a nice relaxing bath for about half an hour before bed and I’m all good), however now I’m waking up in the wee small hours and am unable to get back to sleep, partly, I think, because it’s broad daylight outside even at 3:30 am, and as soon as I can see that creeping round the edge of the curtains, somewhere in the deep dark recesses of my mind it says it’s time to wake up.
I did, however, cut approximately eleventy million pieces of white fabric as the background for the quilt I mentioned last week before sewing 80 HSTs, and after my sleep deprived ordering of approximately half the extra fabric I needed for my Holiday Homies quilt, I’ve now ordered the rest of it!
Finishes This Week:
You’ve got to be kidding!
In Progress This Week:
Here’s what all the bits of white with the exception of the stack for the HSTs looks like (that’s corner squares of the blocks, sashing strips and borders)

And here’s the HSTs I’ve started but clearly not trimmed yet (please excuse the OCD labelling, there’s a whole diagram of how the bits of this need to go together!)

To Be Worked On This Week:
- Sleeping through the night!
- Finishing those HSTs and trimming (and if I have enough sleep I’ll do a demo of how I sew them with my Clearly Perfect Angles and trim them with my Clearly Perfect Trimmers)
Hope you have a great (and sleep filled) week!
We aren’t as far north as you, but I also struggle with the early morning light this time of year, too. I try to embrace it as much as I can since the dark will be here before I know it. Still, wishing you a bit of good sleep soon.
Unfortunately I’m wide awake reading this when I should be asleep ! I love those holiday homies fabrics . I used them to make Christmas stockings the other year .
