So I day jobbed for most of the weekend, but I did manage to get a couple of small projects done ready to take on holiday (still 17 days to go, but who’s counting…) On Friday I went to Ikea to get a replacement light fitting for my living room (that turned out not to need to be replaced, but I digress) and a Raskog cart fell into my trolley (did you know they have some new colours and they’ve reduced the price?). I assembled it on Friday night and then realised that it was the wrong colour for where I’d planned it, but my original cart in the living room was the right colour, so I moved the various fabric pulls and WIPs from the old one to the new one and unearthed some more things to finish – argh! Still, it should keep me out of mischief for a while…

Finishes This Week:

I got a couple more shower caps made – I firmly believe that when you find something that works, you need one of those things in every possible place you could use them (and let’s face it, I have enough fabric to render every fabric thing I own about a dozen times over!) So I have the original 2 I made in my bathroom and my gym bag, and now I’m adding in another couple for my large and small travel washbags.

One of the other things I found during my steroid powered cleaning of a few weeks ago was my travel pillow bag, which was actually the original plastic bag I bought that pillow in, and which had lost its handle on one side and was ripped. I am *that* person that takes their own pillows with them because I have a feather allergy and I like to be able to breathe when I travel if possible. (Incidentally, it’s amazing how many luxury hotels take great offence when you don’t want their down pillows and duvets, good job I generally Air BNB or holiday cottage these days!) So I dug out some long stashed Ikea home decor fabric with a big bird and random architecture/boat print on it and made a couple of bags, here’s one being modelled by the pillow that had been in the old bag, and there’s another one for a pillow that had previously been free range.

In Progress This Week:

Unearthing a ridiculous pile of WIPs to finish!

To Be Worked On This Week:

  • Whatever WIPs I can get time to knock off before my holiday

Have a fabulous week all!
