So I finally finished my panic deep cleaning of the flat, and I unearthed quite a few things to work on! I’m not sure why, but I have this ridiculously guilty feeling whenever I have an expanse of time when I could do something I enjoy if I feel like there’s ‘work’ I should be doing instead, that I’ve been putting off until I had time. So now that I’ve cleaned, tidied, and reshuffled furniture, I feel like I’ve cleared the decks and cleared out the excuses too. I have a range of projects I could work on, including restringing my harp (because now that I have nowhere to go at all ever, I have time to do that, which I’ve been putting off for, erm, 20-odd years). Did I mention that I’m still actually working full time and doing my gym’s morning workout every morning like I normally would on premises? Apparently I’m also hoping to have unearthed the Tardis to give me all the time in the world to work on these projects… Well at least I’ve saved on the commute time ;o)
Finishes This Week:
I did actually finish a thing! I sewed up the seam in a reusable Sainsbury’s bag that’s been burst for about a year. No, I didn’t take a photo!
I’ve also unpicked the excess backing and batting from my Moda Building Blocks quilt to separate them from each other, because the extra batting is quite handy, and the fabric can always be reused in small project.
In Progress This Week:
This pile, plus some glittery vinyl and continuous zipper is going to become a pouch for my shoelaces. I know this sounds a little odd, but I absolutely adore X-Pand elastic laces and I generally buy in bulk so I’m never short of them when I get a new pair of trainers. I recently stocked up on their sports version along with some more of the flat anchors and ends, and they’ve been living in a ziplock bag. Now it’s time to put them somewhere nicer and neater.

This is going to be another big quilt, with a navy background (it’s actually underneath the pile of HR Far Far Away 1 and 2, but you can’t really see it here) It should actually be a quick and simple make, if only I got round to cutting the fabric…

And finally a bunch of bear bits. I’m thinking of maybe recording how to make one of these wee guys, we’ll see how my magically elastic time goes!

To Be Worked On This Week:
Anything and everything from the selection above, or maybe something else that falls in my lap!
Hope you’re all staying safe and well :o)
