I think I might need to give up sewing and take up ark-building. To say the rain has been persistent over the last week would be an understatement! Still, it meant I wasn’t entirely devastated when my hairdresser called in sick on Saturday and I was postponed for a couple of weeks. It meant I had the chance to take a couple of the masterclasses at Beyond Festival Of Quilts, the first with Wendy Dolan for an embroidered landscape, and the second with Sara Cook for the Jokagbo light catcher. I also finished piecing the top of Cuddles The Hexie Bear and cut 15 more masks, which I just started sewing last night. This weekend my mum and dad are finally cleared to travel and visit in our bubble, so I shall be spending some time with them and my gran.

Finishes This Week:

I finished my light catcher, but forgot to take a photo, sorry! I’ll try and remember for next week.

In Progress This Week:

This is where Cuddles The Hexie Bear has got to. This is actually just his rough outline, he’ll now get basted and quilted, and then trimmed down to a rounder finish. I pieced him entirely on Rusty, my wee 222k

I got a chance to practice some of the techniques from Wendy’s class, but as I had booked in very late, I didn’t have a couple of the supplies needed (embroidery thread and an embroidery hoop the right size) Given the weekend’s visitors, it may be a wee while before I can show off a finish!

To Be Worked On This Week:

  • Hanging out with the family
  • Sewing up more masks
  • Basting Cuddles

Have a fabulous week everyone!
