We’re getting closer to the big day, which means, of course, that we’re now well into the territory of secret squirrel projects so that people that stalk us follow us lovingly on social media don’t see what they’re about to receive. Due to the fact that I officially finished the day job for the year last Friday, I’ve had a little more time to play with other things, including a last minute painting class on Saturday with Jessi of Etta Vee. Since I (rather smugly) completed my tasks for the big day yesterday, I’m finally going to get around to catching up on my Introduction To Bookbinding course with Yvette Ja that I grabbed on sale a few months ago, so hopefully I’ll have some more fun things to share next week.

Finishes This Week:

Well of course I can’t show you any of this week’s finishes, but now it’s finally arrived (after a mere 2 weeks going first class to Cornwall) I can show you a finish from a couple of weeks ago, a bag made for a friend’s 50th. She’d been hoping to travel to Italy and Japan, but since this year had other plans, I did what I could to bring a bit of them to her using some Cotton + Steel linen panels I’d been stashing to make some outer slip pockets (with a magnetic closure), along with some waxed canvas for the main body of the large, zipped tote bag. The lining was some long hoarded Momo and an Amy Butler zipped pocket.

This is the poinsettia that we painted in class on Saturday. Nice and discreet as you can see:

In Progress This Week:

I actually haven’t started my next project yet!

To Be Worked On This Week:

  • Some bookbinding
  • Whatever else floats my boat

Hope you all have a fabulous week, even if it isn’t the normal run up to Christmas that you have.
