Sainsbury’s went and threw me for a loop by getting rid of all their single use plastic bags from the produce sections while I was away on holiday, which I discovered when I went to pick up a few things on my first day back and ended up with free range onions...

I thought I would give you all a bit of a giggle t I thought I would give you all a bit of a giggle tonight as part of the #saturdaynightcraftalong with @charmaboutyou

I have about eleventy billion lines to mark across 8 projects and I can only hold the pen in a totally cack-handed way with this splint on. We may be some time yet (been going since this afternoon 🙈)
Today in the #igquiltfest2021 we're talking solids Today in the #igquiltfest2021 we're talking solids. I do have a lovely collection of solids that I dip into (many I've had for as long as I've been quilting after I picked up some bargain bundles from a shop that was closing down just when I started out). But I have to admit to dipping into my 'solid like' fabrics more often.

I did once make an all-solid mini though as part of craft book week 2012, which you can see on slide 2
For today's #igquiltfest2021 prompt we're talking For today's #igquiltfest2021 prompt we're talking about contemplation. Honestly I'm not one that spends a lot of time contemplating projects, I tend to just catch my eye on something and dive right in!

However I have a bunch of things I *have* to finish before I start my next project, and this lot caught my eye the other day when I sorted out my Cotton + Steel OG and Ruby Star Society collections and I thought it would be ideal for a couple of BOM/sew alongs I'm involved with and haven't started yet. The colourful stack on top is Ruby Star Darlings, while below that is the Black and White collection from a few years ago, along with some of the new Ruby Star basics. I'm now contemplating how to jam the 2 together!
Today's #igquiltfest2021 prompt is creative hands. Today's #igquiltfest2021 prompt is creative hands. Mine are a little restricted at the moment, but they're still working, albeit a little slower than usual!
Today's theme in the #igquiltfest2021 is collabora Today's theme in the #igquiltfest2021 is collaboration, which ties in nicely with my #justjudecollaborates project for this week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

These are made from Sonia, @fabricandflowers colourful Automatica pattern using some hoarded Makower Pinstripes for the colourful sections along with some Moda Modern Backgrounds for the background and centre. The great thing about the pattern is that you basically get 2 blocks for every 'wheel' section you cut, so it was a no brainer to make up 2 cushions (I upsized the background a wee bit to make them 18" finished rather than 16") There's actually 2 sizes in the pattern, this is the larger of the blocks, but there's a slightly smaller one made using charm squares, just in case you have a bunch of them looking for a new home!
Today for the #igquiltfest2021 with @amyscreatives Today for the #igquiltfest2021 with @amyscreativeside it's all about sewing snacks. I have to admit that I don't tend to eat while sewing, but I do usually have a drink by my side (in a grown up sippy cup, so I don't spill). During the day it's usually water, with an upgrade to Cherry Coke Zero at night. Living on the edge, me 😂
It's time for the #igquiltfest2021 with @amyscreat It's time for the #igquiltfest2021 with @amyscreativeside and after missing the last year or two I thought I'd join in this year as I have a few new followers.

By day I'm a Scrum Master and developer in not-in-the-least-bit sunny Glasgow and by night I sew, quilt and occasionally paint and play with other crafts. Oh, and I run a shop selling parts for vintage sewing machines, specialising in Featherweights (221 & 222s) and write the odd pattern.

I have hypermobility syndrome and managed to dislocate my wrist last Monday, so I'm not sure how many of these I'll get done, but I'll give it a shot!

P.S. I happen to look relatively presentable today, after a year of working from home, because we needed to take a 'team photo' this morning for a presentation. I found myself telling my team on Friday that they would have to remember to shower AND get dressed for work today before turning on their laptop cameras (file under 'things I never thought I'd find myself saying to a bunch of adults' 😂)
One of my favourite things to do on holiday is to One of my favourite things to do on holiday is to base myself in a holiday cottage, often in the middle of nowhere, and spend a few days playing the 'what if' game. On this occasion I was based in a tiny cottage near the very end of the Renvyle Peninsula, one of the many tiny fingers of land that reach out of Connemara, north west of Galway, into the North Atlantic. As I went out to enjoy a drive on this lovely, sunny autumn day, I wondered what if I turned right onto the single track road my cottage was off, instead of left and back to the nearest village along the route I'd arrived by. As it turned out, it took me down the other side of the peninsula and popped me out just next to Derryherbert Harbour, one of the many tiny harbours in the area.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Today we're kicking off a month long collaboration Today we're kicking off a month long collaboration with some great quilty friends @justjudebelfast @fabricandflowers and @joaverystitch

Following on from her first collaboration last year Jude has gathered us all together for an Instagram event where we take it in turns to make each others patterns. Each week we will show off our take on one pattern, which is sure to be a bit of a mind bender given our rather different styles!

We're starting this week with @fabricandflowers colourful Automatica Quilt pattern. Sonia has 15% discount for this pattern in both her web shop and Etsy, which is already applied 😊

We'd love to see you join us! Please use #justjudecollaborates when you share and look out for my version later this week.
