by Katy Cameron | 07.12.2015 | Camera Challenge Reviews, Camera Challenges 2015, Photography, Tutorials

Welcome to the very final follow up post for the Camera Challenges from this year.  I have promised a couple of times that we would talk about RAW format and today is finally the day! Most DSLRs should have an option to shoot in RAW, and many bridge and even compact...

Where Did That Shadow Go? – Camera Challenge Extra Follow Up

by Katy Cameron | 16.11.2015 | Camera Challenge Reviews, Camera Challenges 2015, Photography, Tutorials

I thought we had finished the camera challenges a couple of weeks ago, but it turned out there were a few more things I needed to answer about lighting and setups, so here goes! I was asked where my shadows were in the photos I showed in my review of Using Artificial...

Camera Challenge 9 Review – Using Artificial Light Indoors

by Katy Cameron | 19.10.2015 | Camera Challenge Reviews, Camera Challenges 2015, Photography, Tutorials

Artificial light is one of the biggest thorns in the craft photographer’s sides.  Well, to be more accurate, the fact that one doesn’t have a constant source of uninterrupted, perfectly white balanced light filling every room is the biggest thorn in the...

Camera Challenge 8 Review – Using Natural Light Indoors

by Katy Cameron | 14.09.2015 | Camera Challenge Reviews, Camera Challenges 2015, Photography, Tutorials

So I’m sure a few of you are cursing me for this month’s challenge… actually, I know one of you is, since you e-mailed me to tell me.  Hi Laura :oD  Anyway, so this month’s challenge was all about using natural light indoors, and the point was...

Camera Challenge 7 Review – Using Natural Light Outdoors

by Katy Cameron | 10.08.2015 | Camera Challenge Reviews, Camera Challenges 2015, Photography, Tutorials

I hope everybody enjoyed the natural light challenge, and you all got to go out and enjoy at least some sunshine with your cameras. So this challenge was all about using ‘natural light’, aka daylight, to light the subject of your photos.  It is the beloved of many...

Camera Challenge 6 Review – Finding Your Inspiration And Gaining Your Composition

by Katy Cameron | 06.07.2015 | Camera Challenge Reviews, Camera Challenges 2015, Photography, Tutorials

I hope that was a fun challenge for you.  It should have shown you that in order to get good photos it does take a little bit of work, much as we would love perfect locations/setups to land in our laps!  Since there isn’t a technique as such for this month, I thought...

These triangular rocks at Plettenberg Bay fascinat These triangular rocks at Plettenberg Bay fascinated me. You'd have thought, in the sea, that they'd be rounded in some way, but nope, they were pretty spiky! #plettenbergbay #gardenroute #westerncape #southafrica #migrationmonday #migrationmondaylt #travelphotography #canon20d #mycanon #canonuk
Today I shall be quilting all the things. All the Today I shall be quilting all the things. All the cutting and fusing is from the few minutes each day that I got to grab for my #sew365projectlt this week, but since that was in the evening in the dark I stored it all up for one exciting (?) photo today...

My #sew365projectlt is taking a small diversion th My #sew365projectlt is taking a small diversion this week while I fuse all the things for a rather ridiculous pair of batch-makes (because when you're going to all the trouble of making 1 of a thing, why not make 4 or 5? 🤦). By breaking it into small chunks it's making it feel a bit more bearable!

Today's adventures in felt for the #sew365projectl Today's adventures in felt for the #sew365projectlt turned out to be more of a rosebud than a full flower, but that's okay, variety is good!

Today's floral experiment for my #sew365projectlt Today's floral experiment for my #sew365projectlt (while waiting for the PVA to try stiffening the other flower) was the first of my big printed out pattern flowers. I love the size this rose came up, and I can see a bunch more of these in my future. Next pic is for scale against one of my wee 'cherry blossoms'

So for the #sew365projectlt today I tried going ba So for the #sew365projectlt today I tried going back to the problem Sizzix die from the other day. I think the main problem is that the felt's flat, so I need to work out how to curl it like the paper in the image on the die cover.

Has anyone got any experience trying to mould acrylic or polyester felt? I've found suggestions for stiffener made from a PVA glue solution, but I'm not sure whether to apply it, let it dry, then cut and shape it, or to put pieces already cut into the solution, then mould it as it dries - thoughts?
