These baby chisels are my favourite thing for cutting up the centre of buttonholes without leaving whiskery threads in the way that you do with scissors or seam rippers. They work not just for buttonholes, but also to cut slits in fabric for bag hardware by starting at just one corner to cut to the length you need.
