Description

These thread posts are designed to allow you to use cross-wound threads with vintage sewing machines which have vertical spool pins.  There’s a wee story here on my blog showing why thread direction is so important on all machines, and this handy wee post removes the need for bigger thread stands and is so much more portable than its predecessors, perfect for taking to retreats and classes.

The tapered post goes over the spool pin on the top of the machine (it works on any vintage Singers with this set up) , then the thread spool goes onto the horizontal pin with a cap to hold it in place. A small rubber tip then slides onto the upper thread guide to keep the thread flowing smoothly.

There are 2 caps included for use with different size holes in the spool, just choose the smallest on that fits – note that the larger Aurifil spools use the smaller cap, and the smaller, sample size ones use the larger cap.  Gutterman thread would also use the smaller cap.
